Sacred Heart Students Making us Proud

Sacred Heart Schools around the province are blessed with remarkable students, with caring hearts, admirable goals and laudable work habits. Right now, two of them are in the news. We think you'll be just as proud of them as we are.

Mary Grace Henry, a senior at Convent of the Sacred Heart, Greenwich, was recently honored with the World of Children Award, a global recognition for improving the lives of children worldwide. Mary Grace began making and selling headbands from the school's store, with all proceeds benefiting the Sacred Heart School in Uganda. She was inspired by the efforts of the entire Sacred Heart, Greenwich school community, which, over the years, has built and continues to fund a primary school in Uganda.  Mary Grace "took it one step further."

At 17, Katie Ledecky is a veteran swimmer, winning gold at the 2012 Olympics in London. (Yes, when she was 15!) Katie is a senior at Stone Ridge Academy of the Sacred Heart in Bethesda. She was also recently named the USA Swimmer of the Year. Even Michael Phelps calls her a "stud."

Congratulations Mary Grace and Katie! You make us proud! More than that, you inspire us.
