Discernment

How do we know what God wants us to do in life?

You are infinitely more than what you do, more than what your family or employer wants from you at the moment. Your desire to do something significant for God and a desire to truly make a difference in our world will come from consciously connecting to your own deepest values and keeping an open mind and heart.

Are you asking?

  • Is this a good fit for me?
  • Are my priorities aligned with the mission of the Society of the Sacred Heart?
  • What is the discernment process?
  • What are the stages of Sacred Heart formation?
  • Are you longing for greater joy and meaning?

Discernment is a process of discovering how God is calling you and inviting you to serve. Throughout our lives each of us discovers more and more deeply our feelings and yearnings. As you think about a possible life-choice for a vowed religious life, we invite you to learn more about the Sacred Heart charism, our priorities, and the ways that we live and respond to addressing the problems and needs of our world today.

If you are attracted to the idea of serving God as a religious, and wish to learn more about the RSCJ, we hope you find these pages helpful. Look around, explore new options and have fun. We would be honored to get to know you, and walk with you as you grow in God's love.

Discover Your Deepest Self…

Our sisters of all generations are living our mission of revealing God’s love in response to the realities of today, with a gift of self clearly rooted in a relationship with God. Superior General Kathleen Conan, RSCJ
