Easter reflection

Today, we hold the mystery and the paradox in each breath ...
Both death and resurrection are present
as we stand at the foot of the cross.

In this season, we see the tender birth of Spring with courageous trust and vulnerability allowing our wounds to hold the resurrection.

It is the Easter season,
burgeoning alleluia with a refusal to believe that anything is devoid of resurrection,
even when the rational likelihood leaves us teetering on the brink of despair.

There, in the middle of impossible,
someone rolls away the stone of our own encumbered hearts,
and we hear the tenderness of the One who calls our name ...

From there, the courageous, the impossible, the “can’t be” and the “won’t ever happen”
become a distant memory of clanging disbelief, and we are willing
to tell the story, feed the hungry, welcome the stranger, clothe the naked, comfort the grieving
and protect the persecuted, to become makers of peace –

to be and act as one Body, united in the heart of the risen Christ.

Alleluia! Let the art of the children open our hearts to the Easter season of great love!
