The Provincial Leadership Team is pleased to announce that Caroline Richard has been hired as director of Petit Musée and Shrine of Saint John Berchmans, located at Schools of the Sacred Heart at Grand Coteau in Grand Coteau, Louisiana.
Caroline first day will be January 6, 2020. As director, she will be responsible for, among other functions, oversight of the facility, researching and creating new displays in the museum, welcoming groups, training and coordinating volunteer docents, and collaborating with the committee preparing for the Academy’s bicentennial in 2021.
Caroline is very familiar with the Sacred Heart mission, having begun her life at the Academy of the Sacred Heart in Grand Coteau in the second grade. In applying for the position, she wrote, “As an alumna of the school and a parent of a current student, I have a vested interest in not only preserving the history and culture of the school as a whole, but also in reaching out and making these values and traditions known and accessible to the wider community.”
She brings with her professional experience that will be an enormous asset. Caroline holds a master of library and information science with a specialization in archives, a master of arts in social and cultural anthropology, and masters degree in European studies. She has a working knowledge of French and experience in deciphering the handwriting of the 19th century, which gives her access to original documents in our archives.
