When the woman with a years-long hemorrhage touches Jesus, the LIFE that is in him flows through her like an electric current. Connected to that flowing radiation of the fullness of life, her whole being – body and soul – is reset. The inner wound that for twelve long years, day and night has been draining away her life is healed at last!
Years ago, I had a conversation about God with a firefighter while we stood on a small-town Wyoming street corner, waiting for his partner to return with some equipment. “I can’t find God inside a building,” he said, “but in the woods…yep…in the woods…”

On this First Friday of June, I am, for some reason, quite conscious of the liturgical shift from the glorious season of Easter, crescendo-ing in the Spirit’s fullness of presence at Pentecost to … well … a good bit of what the Church calls ‘ordinary.’

In prayer, we may recall periods when our own encounters with the Divine were intense, powerful, precious or intimate.
