Transformation
The objective of Lent is transformation, and the word in scripture used for this kind of transformation is metanoia. While the Greek word is typically translated as “repentance,” the word implies regret or remorse, and a decision to move forward to a space where one experiences a change in one's very core.

Madeleine Sophie Barat recalled her inspiration in founding the Society: That is it, I said to myself, as I was praying before a lonely tabernacle: we must dedicate ourselves to the education of young people; renew in souls the solid foundations of a living faith in the Blessed Sacrament. We will raise up a multitude of adorers from all the nations.
