This past July, Michele Rumer joined the administrative staff of the Society of the Sacred Heart United States – Canada Province as the new medical benefits and finance assistant. Michele had been working for the province in a temporary capacity since April of this year.

Religious of the Sacred Heart Anne (Nancy) Lassotovitch died September 12, 2023, in Atherton, California. She was 92 years old and a member of the Society of the Sacred Heart for 73 years. Nancy was born on June 15, 1931, in Fresno County, California, to Gioachino Lassotovitch and Farley Ranson Lassotovitch. She grew up on a cattle ranch with her brother and two sisters and attended the Convent of the Sacred Heart in Menlo Park, California. During her years at the school, Nancy came to realize that she had a vocation to the religious life.

In 2018, the Society of the Sacred Heart organized a Global Service Day in honor of Rose Philippine Duchesne's arrival in North America in 1818. It was a concrete experience of how it is possible to create “a wave of grace around the world.”

A historic moment unfolded at Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart as the Duchesne Chapel was dedicated, and its brand-new altar was blessed. This significant event, held during the school's annual Alumnae Reunion Weekend, marks a milestone in the school's history.
Duchesne welcomed several distinguished guests, including Religious of the Sacred Heart Sisters Suzanne Cooke, Sheila Hammond, Lucy Hayes, and Nancy Kehoe.

Directed by the SacredHeartDNA program, the “Belong and Act as One” event unfolded in a transformative journey across the picturesque cities of Rome and Lisbon, where participants explored their shared heritage, beliefs and dreams as members of the Sacred Heart family.
